Le Le Beauty Sleep Regime + Daily Activity

0800 – 0900 - Wake up to send pappi to work

0900 – 1130 = ZZzzzzz…… sleep
-
1130 – 1300 – Brunch play and training time
-
1300 – 1530 = zzzzz… sleep
-
1530 – 1630 - play and roaming around time
-
1630 – 1830 = zzzz…. sleep
-
1830 – 2200 – Dinner, play, training and walk time (at times in between slept for 1 hour)
-
2200 – 0800 (next day) = sleep *snore snore ZZZZZzzzzz….. (tends to wake up for position shifting and pee sometimes)
Day 9 of Le Le season - Le Le has been so lethargic nowadays. Sleep and sleep and sleep. Even when I tried playing with her or going through her training routine, she just seems not keen. So is the hormones acting up on her? Her vulva area has since swollen to the size of ping pong ball. Her licking frenzy once again activated on her paws, stomach and vulva. As read on net, it was mentioned to be a normal behavior. But should we prevent her from doing it, since such actions for female dogs is more of a “cleaning” activity during heat season.
2 days ago, we realised lele has bitten her tail until reddish. I have applied Neem oil on her wounds and today the reddish seems to subside but there are pus from her bitten wound. This is the first time I saw such wound on her and its heartaching. She’s on KONG Cloud Collar now as to prevent her from licking but yet she still can do her yoga twisting and manage to reach her tail. But she is unable to reach her vulva areas which solve my earlier doubt since she has to wear her cloud collar. The good thing about the KONG Cloud Collar is lele has no resistant against it. She simply treat it like a neck pillow and wore it throughout her sleep.
But that was not the case when I first wore it on her. She struggle, shake profusely, did her pawing kung-fu just to get rid of this odd thingy on her neck. Immediately using distraction and positive reinforcement methods, I dished out her favourite squeaky toy and we played and ran around the house. Soon later she forget about her neck cushion. Subsequently I took it off. And a while later, I put it back on her again and there comes the treats and praises when she did not try to remove collar. In this way, she will associate the Cloud Collar with all the positive actions.
Tomorrow I’m going to bring her to the vet and had her wound examine. Hope we will find the cause and it will get better.
Tongue Twister
Do you realise Le Le has a distintive feature among the photos?
Yes, it’s her long tongue. Her tongue seems to grow when she get exhausted. It looks exceptionally long for her build and once bitten herself while playing in the field.
But lele’s distintive tongue is no match for Puggy the Pekingese Pup. Puggy has the Guinness World Record for the longest dog tongue measuring 4.5 inches (11.43cm) long. WOW…. More importantly, Puggy has a family who loves and adore him regardless of his imperfection. Beauty lies in the eye of beholder. I give my utmost respect to Puggy family and wishes them all the best and Puggy happily always.

Unconditional Love
Ever since our precious lele joined our family, everything which I’ve plan to do on my free time, wants to have le le involved. My weekends are priotised for her. My leave days are cater for her. It actually came to a point of wondering whether I have became obsessive towards having her.
But how can one heart not melt with her pretty looks and innocent eyes. Especially since she picked up a habit of staring at me when she wants something. Example, every evening after dinner without fail, lele will find opportunity to tell me “It’s time to bring me for a walk”. It may sound absurd. But lele will actually do a face to face eye contact on me. CS always laugh when she do that to me. And I always felt indebt to her if I do not bring her for a walk.
Quote from one of my favourite movie – Moulin Rouge ~ ” The greatest thing you’ll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return. ” And every of our furkids gave us their unconditional love even when we make mistakes, met failures or lazy to bring them for a walk.
I love Le Le a lot. Lele is no longer seen as a family pet but a family member. Everyone in the family adore her. As for me, I want the best for her to be happy and healthy always. She teaches me to live my life to the fullness. She teaches me how to praise and compliment when it’s well done. And more importantly she teaches me love can be unconditional.

Moody Le Le
Le Le seem to be restless and moody due to her PMS. She seems not interested in anything. Her attention span is very short. And she has put on weight. Seeing her in such condition make my heart sulk. Thinking back, I should have spayed her eariler. If she is spayed, she only have to go through the operation recovery. Now she need to be “quarantine” for 3 weeks make me feel bad.
Lele loves the outdoors very much. Every Saturday morning, she will usually get to meet her paw friends at Bishan Dog Run. But now I am quite reserve in bringing her out. Worried about the male dogs and of course her getting pregnant. Her vulva area has become more swollen today. I really don’t know how to make her feel better.
Finally in Season
Waiting waiting, lele finally came on heat on 19th April @ 10.5 months old. We actually book her sterilise operation on the 27th April. But now guess I need to postpone it to July-Aug.
On 18th April, the symptoms of her coming on heat is visibly detected. Lele’s vulva area became reddish and swell up slightly. On the 19th April morning, Le Le was sleeping beside me. I woke up and check on her and found a small tiny patch of red discharge (blood) at her vulva area. Immediately i ran around the house making annoucement “code red, code red!!!”. hahaha…
Next thing, I rush to pet’s lover center at ang mo kio outlet with intention to get her the pampers. After recommendation from the store keeper, I got the Mikki Hygience Pants instead. In additional, got lele a pack of sticks rawhides and a new squeaky toy.
When I got home, I manage to get the pants on lele. As expected, she will try bite off the pants. The solution is distraction. I offer her the new toy to divert her attention away from the pants. After playing, I gave her the rawhide for chewing. Soon before I know, lele has her pants on without resistence. This is part of the positive reinforcement method that I’ve learned during lele’s obedience training. Lele is now sound asleep with her pants on. Sweet dreams sweetie.
